I created SGW for two reasons. As an avid RPG gamer, I'm often referring to strategy guides for help to finish a tricky quest or find a location on the game map. Content-rich guides with lots of images and links are much easier to use but they can be tough to find. So, I wanted to create a free online tool for generating these kinds of guides.
Second, I had just started a new software development job using the same frameworks that power this site and I thought a project like this would be a great way to ramp up my knowledge quickly. SGW was built with several open source technologies: This site would not have been possible without the hard work and support of the contributors and communities that created these technologies.
